Obviously, a basket of goodies – what else could I have named it? Apart from the mushrooms, I think all was grown on the 3/4 acre property mentioned in the previous post below. Eggs, courtesy of 8 Rhode-Island red-cross chooks. Prolific layers they were. Totally free range. They devoured all our scraps each day. And they were rewarded by never being axed. More younger chooks were added as the older ones went off the lay. But all the oldies  were allowed to live on until they died from natural causes. Well, they deserved it. And they still did a good job of eating grubs in retirement.

This drawing was done from life, circa 1989 – I think I placed the basket on the barbecue table outside to draw this. Then added the water-colours indoors, later.
