No, not World Naked Gardening Day. But every day can be Naked Gardening Day at the 42 Spirits Eco Farm and Art Community. It is situated in Southern Arizona, U.S.A. Beautiful Soleil here is a co-founder and co-host of the community, along with Dragon, who took these great shots.
Soleil must be doing something right, as she will be 70 next birthday. Could be eating the wholesome carrots that does it. Either that, or the fountain behind her is that famous one pertaining to Youth. Soleil and Dragon have contributed quite a lot to this Art Blog: Soleil as a model, and Dragon with his photography. He is also a great artist (painter) with a unique style.

A Walk Through My Files
Ah yes, I have the occasional walk through my archival file photographs, and so came across this one of Sophia. I am not sure why I like it so much, yet didn’t notice it in the past. We see things with different eyes as time goes by I guess. I think it is the casual, unguarded look about the pose. Like an out-take. Relaxed and nonchalant. Sophia doing her thing so well, without even trying.

THIS WAS part of my “Fragments of Vision” exhibition at Bundaberg Regional Art Gallery (Brag – Australia) in 2011. I had lost much of my sight two years before – from strokes on both optic nerves. So I ended up with a sort of tunnel vision. Luckily I could still see enough to paint, via the small, relatively clear “keyhole” that remained in my left eye. My right eye unfortunately has no central vision. So I am a bit of a lefty. Shaving however, was difficult for awhile, with mixed results. A bloody task at first, until I got the hang of it. I do it mainly by feel now. I still have the same vision today, but am used to it now. And happy to say, my eye condition (called NAION) has been stable for some 10 years. Life is good.
