(Part of my ongoing “In Praise of the Older Woman” over-arching theme).
These images were taken in a rainforest at the Sunshine Coast, Q. Australia. What an amazing setting. The wall is a remnant from various old railway structures, from when the rail line used to go through there. The light was also amazing, just sneaking through the tree canopy. NO Photoshop, or AI.

This serendipitous Lady was waiting in my new glasses case as I opened it, and took out the glasses: The cleaning cloth, photo taken in situ, just as I found it (with black background of case).

It has been quite a long time since I have posted a photograph of Soleil. She has been contributing her modelling talents to my Art Blog for about 10 years, and here she is, now in her early 70s, well 73 actually, wonderful. She and her partner have an eco tarm in Arizona (U. S.), where clothes are optional. Search “Soleil”on my Blog for more of Soleil, if you will. I have been absent for some time with this website, due to many circumstances. It is a website of my Art mainly: of paintings, photography, cartoons, and some music. And at times I also feature Guest Contributors as with this post.

I still have this one, was never framed. Sometimes I think what I did way back is better than what I do today. Uncontrived. Fresh, and emotional. I try to walk away from painting these days, or I ruin them. Know when to stop.

THE JOYS OF VISUAL IMPAIRMENT.
I kid you not. Last week I had a good look all around the annual Bundaberg Art Prize, and passed this young woman looking at a painting. I went past, then later came back and she was still there, staring intently. I turned back and said, “I think you need to buy that painting.” Then I realised she was a mannequin. Lucky no-one heard me. It made me laugh to myself at least.

The Bundaberg Art prize is held annually in Bundaberg, Q. Australia, with $20,000 worth of prize money total, and held in a pop-up vacant shop situation each year. Always a great event. (Photo: copyright Dennis Mealor 2022).
