Film and original soundtrack by Dennis Mealor. Short Film, “The River” – copyright Dennis Mealor 2015. The Soundtrack is an excerpt from my CD “Fragments of Vision” (copyright Dennis Mealor 2011), which was part of the ambient music for my 2011 art exhibition of the same name at Bundaberg Regional Art Gallery (BRAG). Keyboard was played in real time, and happily was my first take. The gong was added later, on another track. There is also an underlying touch of bowed double bass, adding to the deeper sections of the keyboard. This track is entitled: “Death & Rebirth of the Artist.”
Suggestion: Please use ‘full screen’ setting & good speakers (with sub-bass) if possible. For the best ‘meditative’ effect, look mainly at the centre of the screen while the film proceeds.
On the day of filming, near to sunset, I found the river’s motion extremely calming. I hope this little snippet on film can capture some sense of that experience.
