I started this painting with no idea what I would be doing. It was just a way of putting some paint on canvas, to avoid “artist’s block.” I was about to continue, when my then partner said, “Don’t do any more, that looks perfect.” Being a student of Japanese language, she said that it reminded her of a Japanese word. So I left it as is, & called it “Perfection.”
