So much negative news these days, so I am posting an archive of Sophia. Nothing more cheery than The Nude, and the cheery Sophia. This shot went viral Australia- wide in 2013 when I entered it in the annual Bundaberg Art Festival. However, the admin. of the festival removed it from display as “inappropriate.”
The local news media got wind of it, and the story went national: The Sydney Morning Herald; ABC online, and much more. The National online Art magazine Arts Hub picked it up, & posted the photo on their website with a positive story. My Art Blog here received over 45,000 hits in about 3 days at the time.
Oddly enough, I had won 1st Prize ($1,000) for a photo of a mature female nude the year before, by the same art festival. It didn’t make sense. Initially I was vilified for this pic here, but then the tide turned as artists and art lovers local and national supported me in droves. Thank you people. And thank you Sophia. Viva Italia!
