I started this painting with no idea what I would be doing. It was just a way of putting some paint on canvas, to avoid “artist’s block.” I was about to continue, when my then partner said, “Don’t do any more, that looks perfect.” Being a student of Japanese language, she said that it reminded her of a Japanese word. So I left it as is, & called it “Perfection.”

Some time ago, I had a plastic mask of Tut, & some spare cement mixed. So I supported the mask in sand, & filled it with the cement. When hard, removed the solid head. Tut is kept company by old garden kerbing ruins.
