With Life Modelling, or Life (Nude) Photography, there is usually a big feeling of apprehension prior. But having had a go at it myself years ago at a government Tafe colleger art class, it was one of the best things I ever did. It was like how I imagine sky-diving to be, but without the risk of dying. Getting out of one’s comfort zone. A feeling of vulnerability but at the same time a feeling of power.
And at the time, I had many stresses, like going through a major flood, and a lot of damage to my home. The Life Modelling was an escape from all that, in my mind. It was Relaxing, Meditative, and Liberating. All my anxious thoughts disappeared. At least for a day or two. Suzanne said it had a similar effect on her. So she enjoyed it enough to do another photo session after this first one. A brilliant model. And the old Federation era building (early 1900s) was a perfect setting, with amazing natural light.
