Herewith, Drawings from a recent Life Drawing session at the local art venue. The main pic is a detail from a 20 minute drawing. The reclined figure was 20 minutes (oil pastels & 2B pencil on paper). The standing figures (oil pastel) were 2 minutes. I like the short standing poses (2 to 10 minutes max). Seated and lying is ok, but not too many, thanks. Standing poses present the entire figure, and also suggest the weight/gravity of the stance. To me, this is missing in seated poses. Primitive as they are, these quick standing forms put out a non-contrived charm of their own. My pet hate is something overworked and contrived, whether painting, drawing or photograph.
