My “Forever Young” Gallipoli painting was recently at the Bundaberg Art Gallery (BRAG) for my exhibit as BRAG’s “Artist of the Month” for December 2014. After arriving back at my unit in bubble wrap, it has been sitting on the floor all this month. Finally borrowed a ladder to hang the beast, in my lounge-room. I thought my red sofa cover (bamboo – wonderful material) would diminish the painting’s presence, but no. Oddly enough, the bright red seems to enhance the reds and oranges of the painting. The room is aglow with red. Very lively and positive.
Strassman’s famous Ted E. Bare is now the art curator of my home. I think he is doing an ok job. For a bear at least. The Digger will again leave home next month, as part of my mini-solo exhibition at the Moncrieff Entertainment Centre. He gets around.
