I am slightly obsessed with light poles and power poles of late. And obsessed with the arse-end of The Urban in general. Not so much interested in the lovely, saccharine  facades of Urbanity, that usually go on postcards.

For some time I have liked seeing beauty in the ugly. There is something almost organic about the mess of wires and wire joins on these poles. The opposite of good design. Just a chaos of wires and slightly gnarled old tree trunks, some leaning over. But there is also a hint of the grotesque and macabre in them. Electrocution comes to mind. Electrocution. And crucifixion. These Crucifix Poles sometimes come in threes.
